Mikey Madison plays “Max,” Sam’s oldest daughter who is in full teenage bloom.
Madison was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. From an early age, she enjoyed riding horses and found success on the hunter/jumper circuit. Her passion for horses was unequivocal, that is, until she discovered acting. Madison put her equestrian ambitions on hold to try her hand as an actor and, at only 15 years old, shot her first full-length feature film, Liza, Liza, Skies are Grey, produced and directed by Academy Award® winner Terry Sanders. Madison captivated audiences and critics alike as the deeply complex, yet innocent “Liza.” Her multilayered portrayal of a young girl searching for love is a profound example of Madison’s talents and proved to be a major stepping stone in her young career. Other credits include, but are not limited to, the Golden Globe®-winning series Modern Family and the indie darling Blue Weekend.
Madison recently wrapped production on the independent drama Monster alongside Jennifer Hudson, Jeffrey Wright and Kelvin Harrison Jr. The film, based on the best-selling novel by Walter Dean Myers, follows “Steve Harmon,” a 17-year-old honor student and aspiring filmmaker who finds himself incarcerated at a New York juvenile detention center and charged with robbery and felony murder.
In addition to working, Madison is the proud sister of four siblings, including a twin. Her brilliant mind and discipline in her scene work is an inherited attribute of her parents, both of whom are clinical psychologists.
