Damson Idris stars as “Franklin Saint,” a young street entrepreneur on a quest for power. Born and raised on the streets of South Central, but educated in an upper-class neighborhood in the Valley, Franklin is determined to raise his station in life and take care of the people around him through whatever means necessary. In season two, Franklin discovers that growing his business comes with unexpected perils that affect his family and friendships. Idris is a television, theatre and film actor. He is the last born of six children (three brothers and two sisters), raised by a single mother in Peckham, London. Idris discovered his passion for acting while studying at Brunel University. Idris will next be seen starring in the independent film Farming directed by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and co-starring Kate Beckinsale and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.The script was developed in the Sundance Film Institute. It chronicles Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s own coming-of-age story of growing up fostered by a white working-class family in the U.K. and Idris portrays this character in the film. His television debut came on the hit BBC comedy series Miranda and shortly after he landed roles in the long-running BBC medical series Doctors and Casualty. Recently on the feature side, Idris completed several films including Pete Travis’ City of Tiny Lights opposite Riz Ahmed, Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s Megan Leavey opposite Kate Mara, Tom Felton and Common, and the Lionsgate thriller The Commuter directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. Idris is currently based in Los Angeles.
